Four days in Amazonia
I'm at the Manaus airport waiting for my plane back to Buenos Aires via Sao Paulo. Only a second to write that all is well and that more will follow later about my last four days, which were wonderful. No electricity, telephone, or hot water but great food at the Amazon Village. Saw alligators at night, walked twice in the jungle, caught 3 fish in a river and then ate them, enjoyed the company of a very nice Irish couple as well as a Swedish one. And our guide, Silvio, was very knowledgeable and kind. He also spoke beautiful English. All in all, a great experience. Now it's back to civilization again. Will be in Buenos Aires for 4 days before heading down to El Calafate and Ushuaia.
